Utah National Parks – Capitol Reef

Capitol Reef和前面的两个公园比起来低调一些。

英文资料是这样描述的：A giant, sinuous wrinkle in the earth crust stretches for 100 miles across south-central Utah. This impressive buckling of rock, created 65 million years ago by the same tremendous forces that later uplifted the Colorado Plateau, is called Waterpocket Fold. It extends from nearby Thousand Lakes Mountain to the Colorado River (Lake Powell). The park was established to protect this grant and colorful geologic feature, as well as the unique nature and culture in the area.

进公园，石头和Zion有些类似，比Bryce结实多了，颜色没有糊涂（Hoodoo）鲜艳。基本上就是沿公园内的路慢速开一趟，喜欢的地方就停下来看看。

Utah National Parks - Bryce

离开Zion就奔Bryce去看糊涂（hoodoo）去。必经之道89号高速是scenic highway，沿途有峡谷，山脉，村庄，农场和湖泊，风景秀丽。

Bryce的精华集中在sunset，inspiration和Bryce point三地围成的Amphitheater。

第一眼看到那些密密麻麻整齐列队的糊涂，绝对会给你视觉上一些震撼和冲击。LD说嘻嘻哈哈地说这些糊涂都到美国来了，那怪现在问题多多。

看到很多摄影爱好者拿着大炮守在那里，等待着日落的余辉洒落在笔直耸立的糊涂身上。。。

在静静的峡谷微微的山风中，Hoodoo们就像待发的战士等待冲锋号吹起的那一刻，有股不可思议的肃穆庄严的气氛在峡谷中蔓延。。。

Sunset Point有Navajo Loop Trail，走下去可以近距离接触糊涂。Tail陡峭，之字小路蜿蜒而下之峡谷底部，再盘桓而上。

Utah National Parks - Zion

在很久很久以前，我们决定利用暑假到犹他州的几个峡谷公园去看看。计划去的公园是以下六个：

1. Zion National Park
2. Bryce Canyon National Park
3. Capitol Reef National Park
4. Arches National Park
5. Canyonlands National Park (optional)
6. Grand Canyon National Park

这是我们当时的计划书，基本上是按计划行事。最初打算以盐湖城做gateway的，但考虑到饮食和居住条件，环境熟悉情况等，最终敲定了拉斯维加斯作为gateway。

西雅图 - 拉斯维加斯飞机往返

在拉斯维加斯租车玩6个NP。实际情况是没有时间到Canyonlands NP。在这个9天计划上增加1天应该更好。

盛夏中的拉斯维加斯是旅游淡季，Hilton免费给我们upgrade到一个Executive Suite。室外华氏100多度（摄氏41-42度），打开宾馆的大门，一股热浪扑面而来。坐在车里，空调一刻不停地全速运转。摸摸车玻璃有些烫手。太阳底下肯定是不能走路的。好在干燥，热而不闷。

第一站  Zion NP

第二天一大早就离开拉斯维加斯直奔Zion。把车停在园外，坐公园的专用shuttle。

 离开Zion到Bryce路上的景色也不错
